Bjorn Iooss was born and raised in New York, graduating with a BFA in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003. He grew up in a home where analog image-making and art was central. His father, Walter, is a celebrated sports photographer, and his Dutch mother, Eva, is a painter. Focusing solely on portraiture in the early years of his career, it was by photographing for fashion and entertainment publications that led his work into fashion and beauty photography. Bjorn's deep knowledge of light and color has enabled him to create a wide body of work, ranging from studio to on-location, where the human element is always central. Clients include Tom Ford, DKNY, DVF, Frye Boots, and Estée Lauder. Publications include Vogue (US, Spain, Mexico, Japan, L’Uomo), Porter Magazine, Harper's Bazaar (US), Vanity Fair (US, UK, Italy), WSJ Magazine, The Last Magazine, Sunday Times Style, and Mr. Porter.
